Jerry Cox

Jerry Cox, LPC

No judgment or phony psychobabble. Jerry is about authenticity, insight, and empowerment. There are utilities inside of us that lead us toward growth. Sometimes we lose sight of our own capacities. Jerry is excellent at helping people use those utilities to take charge of their lives. Life should not be about coping; it should be about possibilities!​

With 30+ years of experience in private practice, agency settings, and schools,  Jerry offers Individual, relationship and couples counseling. His specialties are in the areas of parenting, addiction, and behavioral issues. He especially likes working with teenagers in crisis, who often cope with feelings of sadness, anger, and uncertainty in ways that seem crazy to others. Jerry's approach is designed to introduce thoughtfulness and intentionality to their lives. Throughout all of his work, Jerry starts from a place of respect for all people, including members of the LGBTQ+ community.

 Jerry provides court mandated substance use, anger, and mental health evaluations. He is also experienced in the area of parental alienation and can provide expert witness testimony.

Jerry's education includes a MA in Educational Psychology and Counseling, Tennessee Technological University, and Ed.S. in Counseling from theUniversity West Georgia  and aPh.D Interdisciplinary from Therapon University (Research in Parental Alienation).

Jerry is Nationally Certified by the National Board of Certified Counselors, as well as a Certified Forensic Mental Health Evaluator by the National Board of Forensic Evaluators. He also holds a Certificate in Conflict Resolutions from the Gabbard Institute at Indiana University. In addition, he has taken Graduate training in Behavioral Disorders, University of North Georgia.

Jerry is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia and a National Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors.
